As police look into a weekend shooting in White Castle, people nearby say they're on edge.

The shooting happened on Sunday, May 6, near Bowie Street. Police say an argument between two groups of people is what led to the incident.

We’re told the victim was shot several times and had to be airlifted to a Baton Rouge hospital.

Neighbors we spoke with today say they're not used to the violence and want answers.

“I walk to the store all the time,” Tanisha Thomas, White Castle resident, said. “Me and my kids pushing the buggy. What if me and my child would have been walking right there to the bank going to the grocery store. I think I would of just passed out. I wouldn't know what to do."

If you know anything about this incident call Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-STOP (7867). You can also text your tip to CRIMES (274637). Include CS225 at the beginning of your message.
