Weekend starts violently in Baton Rouge
BATON ROUGE, La (NBC33) - — Baton Rouge police spent Friday night into Saturday morning responding to three different shootings.
The first happened just after 11:00 Friday night on the 1400 block of Christy Drive. BRPD says that's where they found the victim dead in the front yard. Police say he was standing in the yard when an older model 4-door car pulled up and started shooting.
The next shooting happened less than an hour later at the Fuel Stop on Staring Lane. That's where BRPD says the victim and two friends went inside to talk to a woman. When the woman left the store, the suspect opened fire using a high powered rifle.
Finally - just after 2:00 Saturday morning, BRPD was called the Chatter Box lounge on Louise Street. Police say the suspect went up to the victim, who was walking a woman to her car, and shot him. BRPD says there was no words exchanged before the shooting and the two had no prior interaction.
