Deputies arrest man accused of shooting in parking lot at nightclub

UPDATE: Brown turned himself in to detectives during the morning on Tuesaday, Oct. 8. Brown was transported to the parish jail and charged with Aggravated Battery.

 

ORIGINAL: A 21-year-old man is accused of shooting a man in the parking lot of a nightclub located in Tangipahoa Parish.

According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, the shooting happened on Saturday, Oct. 5 at Club 81. When deputies arrived on scene, they located a 20-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the leg.

The victim, a Kentwood resident, was transported to a local hospital with for treatment of the non-life threatening injury.

Witnesses identified the suspect as Raymond Brown of Amite. They say he pulled out a gun and fired several shots at the victim. Officials did not provide a possible motive for the shooting.
