Vigilante shoots teen who allegedly stole his cell phone

BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A 13-year-old boy was shot in the leg yesterday after he allegedly stole a man’s cell phone.
The Baton Rouge Police Department began investigating the case on Wednesday, June 20. We’re told the teen reached through the open window of a car that was parked at a local gas station. The teen took the cell phone and ran off with it.
According to officials the victim of the robbery began seeking out the teen. When he found him, the man allegedly pulled out a gun and shot the juvenile in the leg.
The teen was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for his injury.
Police are actively seeking the man who shot the teen, but could not provide a description of the individual.
No charges have been filed against the teen related to the cell phone theft.
