US attorney confronts burglar while walking dog
BATON ROUGE (NBC33) — Baton Rouge Police have arrested Sidney J. Parker, 58, on charges of attempted burglary and simple battery.
On Saturday, March 30, around 5:06 a.m., U.S. Attorney James Green was out walking his dogs when he saw Parker trying to burglarize his aunt’s house on E. Lakeshore Drive.
Green confronted Parker and the two men got into a physical struggle with each other. Parker hit Green in the head.
Green was able to hold Parker at first, but Parker eventually got away before police arrived.
U.S. Marshals later arrested Parker on Wednesday morning.
Parker was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of Attempted Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling and Simple Battery.
