UPDATE: Sheriff still seeking driver of now fatal hit and run crash

BATON ROUGE, LA — UPDATE: The victim in Sunday's hit and run died yesterday as a result of his injuries. Durell Anthony Ballard, 23, of 5125 Lanier Drive was pronounced dead yesterday.
Detectives are still looking for the driver responsible.
ORIGINAL STORY: East Baton Rouge Sheriff's deputies are asking for the public's help in finding a driver that hit a pedestrian on Sunday at approximately 11:26 p.m. At 7736 Hanks Drive. The pedestrian hit sustained life-threatening injuries and is still in critical condition.
Deputies believe that the pedestrian was walking eastbound in the roadway on Hanks Drive when he was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound.
Deputies are looking for what they believe is a silver or gray 1994-2002 GMC 1500 series truck or 2001-2002 2500 series truck. Deputies believe the truck would have minor to moderate damage to the right front grill, head lamp, fender and hood area. The vehicle could also possibly have damage to the right side of the windshield area. The vehicle should be missing or have a cracked right front side marker/turn signal indicator lenses (amber in color) in addition to missing or damaged areas of silver/gray factory molding near the grill. The vehicle should also be equipped with a factory chrome grill.
