UPDATE: Second suspect arrested in conjunction with Hammond vehicle burglaries

Hammond, La — UPDATE: The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office have made another arrest in connection with the numerous vehicle burglaries which have occurred in the Hammond area.
James Janicholas Keys, 19, was arrested and taken into custody after detectives confirmed his connection in the case and then learned of his intention to flee the state.
With assistance from BRPD, Keys was subsequently located and apprehended at the Greyhound bus station in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
At this time, Keys was detained on two outstanding warrants from the TPSO and arrested by Baton Rouge City Police for possessing marijuana. Keys stated he was attempting to flee Louisiana and was headed to Indiana.
As a result of the investigation, detectives were able to recover some of the property which had been reported stolen during the string of burglaries.
Currently, Keys faces approximately 74 counts of Burglary. Additional charges and arrests may be forthcoming.

Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards says a tip lead to the arrest of Benjamin White, 30.
Authorities found White at the Edgewood Townhomes. He faces approximately 76 counts of burglary and one count of simple battery.
None of the stolen property has been recovered at this time. Detectives are still looking for two other subjects.
