UPDATE: Driver arrested for hit and run accident that killed a woman

BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — UPDATE: The Baton Rouge Police Department arrested Larry Pate, 29, of Baton Rouge for Felony Hit and Run and No Drivers License.
The arrest was made after witnesses provided information that lead detectives to Pate. We're told that the woman who was hit and killed has been identified as Raven Nicole Wright Southerland, 31, of Baton Rouge. Officials tell us that Southerland was arguing with her boyfriend while both were in a vehicle. She then exited the car, began walking down the road, and that's when she was hit by Pate.
ORIGINAL STORY: A woman was killed by a hit and run driver in the early morning on Saturday, May 6. Police are now asking the public for any information that could lead them to the identity of that driver.
The Baton Rouge Police Department reports that the woman was found lying in the roadway a little after 2:30 a.m. The accident happened on the 4200 block of Mohican Prescott.
We’re told the female was pronounced dead at the scene.
The case is being investigated by the Traffic Homicide Division.
