Baton Rouge Police Investigators arrested two men connection with the shooting on South 15th.

Saturday Police arrested Harold Retana, 18 around 4:30pm.

Investigators believe that Retana initiated the physical altercation with the victim, Marvin Thomas,18, from St. Gabriel, while attempting to rob him of his cell phone as he exited Terrace Grocery. It was shortly after the altercation began when the shots were fired which killed Thomas. Police say the shooting happened just before 5:00 p.m. Friday in the 1300 block of South 15th Street.

Sunday Police arrested Corey Scott, 18, around 9:00am Sunday at his home by 2nd District Uniform Patrol Units on charges of 2nd Degree Murder and Illegal Use of a Weapon. Police believe Scott shot Thomas.

Retana was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of Attempted Simple Robbery, Inciting a Felony and Simple Battery.

Scott was involved in the shooting death of Marvin Thomas,18, from St. Gabriel, which occurred on Friday February 7 around 4:50pm in the 1300 block of South 15th Street.
