Gonzales (NBC33) — One Prairieville woman was arrested following an undercover investigation into illegal drug activity on Wednesday, April 9.
The Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division arranged for Karen Marchand, 50, to deliver hydrocodone pills to them at a local shopping center.
Detectives set up surveillance in the parking lot to capture Marchand on video when she showed up.
When Marchand arrived, undercover officers went to her vehicle and spoke with her. At that time, they found that Marchand had 30 hydrocodone pills.
She told police that she was there to sell her pain pills to someone else.
Marchand was then arrested and charged with attempted distribution of schedule II controlled dangerous substance and possession with intent to distribute schedule II CDS. She was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail awaiting bond.
