Two-year-old dies, adult in critical condition after crash caused by intoxicated driver

LAFAYETTE, LA (NBC33) — UPDATE: Two-year-old Kylan Jackson of Opelousas died from his injuries at a Baton Rouge hospital.
Traffic Investigators have issued an arrest warrant for Vehicular Homicide for the arrest of Jamuse Broussard. The Vehicular Homicide charge replaces one count of the Vehicular Negligent Injury charge.

ORIGINAL: An alleged intoxicated driver was arrested for causing a crash that sent a 2-year-old and an adult to the hospital in critical condition.
The Lafayette Police Department reports that the crash happened shortly before 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 16 at the intersection of Moss Street and Van Buren Drive. We’re told a vehicle being driven by Jamuse Broussard, 23, of Lafayette, attempted to turn left and collided with another vehicle.
Officials say a 33-year-old male and his 2-year-old passenger were rushed to a local hospital in critical condition.
Broussard was arrested and charged with OWI, Driving Under Suspension, Failure to Yield While Turing Left and two counts of vehicular Negligent Injury.
