Two women dead in Murder Suicide
April 24, 2011 — BATON ROUGE (NBC33) - Friday night, two women were found shot to death in the Old Quarter neighborhood.
East Baton Rouge Sheriff's deputies were doing a welfare call in that neighborhood, because they'd gotten reports that one woman was suffering from depression, and was considering suicide. But she didn't want to die alone.
When they went over there, they saw mail and newspapers that had stacked up for days.
The sheriff's made a decision for a forced entry into the house, and upon entering, found Sylvia Cason, 64, on the couch dead from multiple gunshot wounds, and Gwen Williams, 71, also dead with a single wound, and the gun near her body.
The sheriffs found no suicide note.
