Two wanted burglars arrested in Tangipahoa Parish
Hammond, La (NBC33) —
Two burglary suspects are behind bars in Tangipahoa Parish due to an officer's keen observations.
On August 22, a police sergeant was assisting at Jay's II in Fluker, LA, when he observed a black male subject being called “Bilbo”.
Knowing that the Criminal Investigations Division has been looking for a Dameon Booth, aka "Bilbo", the officer approached the subject and conducted a field interview.
Upon confirming the subject’s identity, Dameon was taken into custody on the following outstanding warrants: Unauthorized Entry to Inhabited Dwelling, Felony Criminal Damage to Property, Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile, and an FTA for Felony arraignment for Burglary.
Upon taking Dameon Booth into custody, the officer was approached by another black male who identified himself as Dameon’s cousin - Joseph Booth, 23.
The sergeant, again having knowledge that the Criminal Investigations Division was trying to locate Dameon's cousin for the same charges as listed above, verified the warrants through dispatch, confirmed that they were active and placed him into custody.
