Two thieves get away with $1000 of liquor
GEISMAR, LA — Ascension Parish Chief Deputy Tony Bacala is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying one suspect and locating a second one that targeted a local store stealing approximately $1000 in liquor.
On November 6 and November 7 a Geismar area store surveillance video system captured two unidentified subjects walk into the liquor section of the store and stash significant quantities of liquor bottles into their jackets. They then exit the store undetected. Video showed the thieves leaving the store in a silver 4-door sedan, possible a 2004 to 2006 Nissan Maxima which was last seen on Highway 73 headed towards I-10.
The store was targeted again on November 13 by the same two individuals. They used a different vehicle, silver 2011 Chevrolet Malibu. The Malibu displayed a Nebraska license plate (SRD 910) that came back to a vehicle rental company.
With the license plate information detectives were successful in connecting the rental vehicle to an individual identified as 23 year old Christopher E. Daniel. Daniel is identified as one of the suspects in the surveillance video wearing the baseball cap. He uses addresses ranging from Houston, Texas to Baton Rouge and Ethel, Louisiana.
Daniels is wanted by Ascension Parish detectives for one count of felony theft in connection with the liquor theft.
Authorities are still attempting to identify the second suspect in the video.
