Two teens arrested for shooting at passing cars
BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A 12-year-old and a 13-year-old were arrested after they admitted to firing a rifle at passing cars on US 190. The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office made the arrest on Wednesday, Oct. 12.
The Sheriff’s department was called to US 190 just west of Albany after a report came in that someone was shooting a gun at moving cars. When deputies got to the scene they found two cars that had broken windows. Bullet fragments found inside the vehicle led them to conclude that someone was in fact firing at the passing cars.
One bullet is said to have passed about one foot away from the driver’s head. Both of the people in the car had minor injuries due to the shattered glass.
During the investigation deputies located two male teens, who admitted to firing a .22 caliber rifle at the passing cars.
Both have been arrested and charged with Aggravated Battery, Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property, and Illegal Use of a Weapon. Both were transported to the Florida Parishes Detention Center.
