Two suspects arrested for shooting at Opelousas gas station

Opelousas, La — Two men have been arrested in conjunction with a shooting take took place in an Opelousas gas station parking lot during the early morning hours of October 7.
Around 15 shots were fired from two separate areas within a parking lot at an Opelousas business.
Police arrived to a parking lot filled with people attempting to flee the scene on foot along with several vehicles also attempting to leave the scene.
As police continued to obtain information, a report was received of a possible victim receiving treatment at a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the abdomen area. Police responded to question the victim in an attempt to obtain new information.
Sometime later, Opelousas Police received a report that a second victim with gunshot wounds arrived at a hospital in Lafayette attempting to receive treatment.
Today, Opelousas police have arrested both Lamar James, 23, and Ryan Mayo, 29.
Police say the shooting may have been connected to a disturbance that took place earlier that morning at a nearby nightclub.
James and Mayo have been charged with charged with Attempted First-Degree Murder, Obstruction of Justice, and Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property.
