NEW IBERIA, LA (NBC33) — Two people are behind bars for allegedly desecrating graves in Iberia Parish.
Deputies with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office report that the two were arrested on Monday, June 25. The original incident, however, occurred roughly one month prior.
Officials say the suspects, William Andras, 20, and a 16 year old male from New Iberia, were responsible for vandalism and desecration of graves located at Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Iberia Parish.
After the original report was filed, deputies began following up on the evidence collected at the scene. That lead them to the two suspects.
Both have been charged with Desecration of Graves and Trespassing.
We’re told more charges are possible.
