Two burglers arrested in Port Allen

On Thursday, Septr 29, Port Allen Police Officers responded to a report of a home burglary in the 900 block of North 12th Street in Port Allen. Upon arrival, officers met with the homeowner who advised that when she arrived home, she witnessed a Red GMC Yukon parked in her carport. She also witnessed two black males enter the Yukon and drive through the neighbor’s yard in attempt to get away from the homeowner.

The homeowner followed the vehicle and was able to gather identifying information for the vehicle. Officers were able to verify that the residence had been burglarized and several electronic devices had been removed from the residence.

With the information of the vehicle provided, officers were able to locate the Red GMC Yukon. Through further investigation, the Criminal Investigation Division identified the driver and passenger of the Yukon as Deandre W. Hills, 20, of Baton Rouge and Jason E. McCray, 17, of Baton Rouge.

Both arrested and charged with one count Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling and one count Theft. Both were booked into the WBR Detention Center. Bond Information and Pictures were not available at the time of this release.
