Sheriff Sam Craft of the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office announces the arrest of Sara Brock, 21, of Cravens and Jesse Lee Tippett, 22, of Houston, Texas.

The Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office was contacted on April 15 at approximately 8:00 p.m. by a resident who resides north of Pitkin.

The complainant stated he was out of town and arrived home to find that someone had kicked the front door of his residence open and removed numerous items from his home.

The complainant stated that the incident took place between the dates of April 14 and April 15.

Deputies and Detectives responded to the location where it was determined that electronic items, construction power tools, and home décor had been removed from the residence.

Upon further investigation Detectives obtained information that indicated that Sara Brock and Jesse Lee Tippett were involved in the incident.

Deputies and Detectives traveled to Brock’s residence in the Cravens area where they did observe items they believed were removed from victim’s home. The items were observed in plain view and at that time a search warrant was secured for Brock’s residence. Items within the residence were identified as being property stolen from the victim and were recovered at that time.

Detectives later made contact with both Brock and Tippett on April 18 at Brock’s residence.

Brock and Tippett were transported to the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office where they were arrested on one count of Possession of Stolen Things with an initial bond set at $ 2000.

Upon further investigation Brock and Tippett were again arrested on April 20 in relation to this incident after both admitted to going to the victim’s residence on more than one occasion to remove the stolen items.

Brock was charged additionally with three counts of Simple Burglary, three counts of Criminal Trespassing, one count of Criminal Damage to Property, one Count of Criminal Conspiracy, and one count of Theft. Bond on the additional charges was set at $ 49,000.

Tippett was charged additionally with three counts of Simple Burglary, three counts of Criminal Trespassing, one count of Criminal Damage to Property, one count of Theft, and one count of Criminal Conspiracy. Bond on the additional charges was set at $ 54,000. Tippett also has a detainer from the State of Texas, specifically the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, in relation to an outstanding warrant for one count of Burglary of a Habitation.

Both remain in the Vernon Parish Jail at the time of this release.
