Two arrested in I-12 drug bust

TANGIPAHOA PARISH, LA — On April 28, a Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's deputy chased after a black Toyota Solara after it refused to come to a stop during an attempted traffic stop. The deputy could see the occupants shuffling about in the front seat.
The chase continued onto eastbound I-12, where one of the car's occupants threw a plastic bag out of the window which landed on the side of the interstate.
The car then pulled to the left lane and came to a stop, partially in the center median. Both the driver and passenger were detained.
Agents from the TPSO Narcotics Task Force recovered the bag which was thrown; it contained a white powdery substance believed to be Cocaine.
A K9 unit was called in and positively identified the narcotics.
Christopher G. Hart, 38, was charged with Improper Lane Use, Resisting Arrest by Flight, and Possession with Intent to Distribute CDS 2.
Anthony E. Peters, 35, was charged with Possession with Intent to distribute CDS 2.
