Two arrested for stealing dirt bikes

Two brothers were arrested after being caught in the act of attempting to sell stolen property to a Robert resident.

Ronald and Wallace Bickford were taken into custody yesterday after detectives found them to be in possession of stolen property.

The brothers were caught in the act of attempting to sell two stolen dirt bikess to an unsuspecting Robert resident.

The Bickford’s had the motorcycles parked behind a building in Robert. During the investigation, it was revealed that the dirt bikes were reported stolen by the New Orleans Police Department.

Before their arrest, a search of their vehicle revealed a stolen semi-automatic handgun. This handgun was reported stolen by the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office in 2011.

Ronald Bickford, 43, of Ponchatoua, was charged with Possession of Stolen Property, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Convicted Felon Being in Possession of a Firearm and a parole violation.

Wallace Bickford, 49, of Tickfaw, was charged with Possession of Stolen Property and Possession of a Stolen Firearm.

The subjects remain in the Parish Jail. Bond has not been set at this time.
