Two arrested for shooting in Lake Charles

On March 29, 2012, the Lake Charles Police Department investigated a shooting that occurred in the 2800 block of 8th Street. During the investigation, it was learned that Brandon Antoine, 31, had been shot during an altercation on 8th Street. After being shot, Antoine was taken to Memorial Hospital by private means.

During the subsequent investigation, it was learned that the female resident of a home on 8th Street, Tijuana Mitchell, was involved in the shooting as well as a male suspect who was identified as Cornell Henry.

Mitchell was arrested at the Lake Charles Police Department’s Detective Division and charged with Attempted First Degree Murder.

After Mitchell’s arrest, an arrest warrant for Attempted First Degree Murder and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, was prepared for Cornell Henry, 46, of Lake Charles.

Mitchell’s bond was set at $350,000.00 and Henry’s was set at $1,200,000.00.

The same day, March 29, the male suspect, Cornell Henry, walked into the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office on his own and turned himself in.

Henry was taken into custody and is currently incarcerated in the parish jail.
