Twelve DWI arrests made after Thursday night checkpoint near LSU

Baton Rouge, LA — The Baton Rouge Police Department and East Baton Rouge Sheriff Office conducted a sobriety checkpoint on the night of March 21 in the 4300 block of Highland Rd.
A total of 239 vehicles were screened. Twenty-three Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were administered, resulting in 12 arrests for Driving While Intoxicated.
Officers and Deputies also issued 44 traffic citations, three arrests for Possession of Marijuana, two arrests for drug paraphernalia, one arrest for open container, and one arrest for Schedule II narcotics.
