Troopers partner with Multi-Agency Task Force

TANGIPAHOA PARISH (LSP) -- Louisiana State Police Region I Detectives joined forces with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, Hammond Police Department, Louisiana Probation and Parole, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and U.S. Marshals in a parish wide sex offender fugitive round up.

The operation consisted of forty-two law enforcement agents who visited sixty-three residences focusing on serving arrest warrants to non compliant sex offenders and conducting compliance checks on convicted sex offenders in Tangipahoa Parish. The collaborative effort resulted in a total of 9 arrests as well as 50 compliance checks throughout the parish.

The following individuals were charged with Failure to Register as a Sex Offender and booked without incident into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail.

  -Clifton Joseph Buckel (W/M age 52) of Tangipahoa, LA

  -Andrew D. Warren (B/M age 34) of Amite, LA

  -Dawn M Searles (W/M age 27) of Tickfaw, LA

  -Reginald Dwayne Burkett (B/M age 33) of Amite, LA

  -Cedrick J. Powell (B/M age 37) of Ponchatoula, LA

  -Tracey L. Bell (B/M age 37) of Roseland, LA

  -Kenneth Alvin Richardson (B/M age 59) of Kentwood, LA

  -David Lee Burton (B/M age 22) of Tangipahoa, LA

Jackie G. Stevens (W/M age 50) of Roseland, LA

The Louisiana State Police is committed to investigating and arresting those who sexually exploit and victimize children. Through Operation Child Watch, Troopers will continue to work in cooperation with other agencies throughout the state and nation to actively pursue child predators and ensure the safety of our children.
