BATON ROUGE, LA — EBRSO Deputies arrested a man today for several area armed robberies after a Uniform Patrol deputy recognized the suspect during a traffic stop yesterday evening.
Daniel Green, 19, of Baton Rouge is charged by EBRSO with two counts of Armed Robbery and one count of Aggravated Battery. More charges may be pending from BRPD.
Yesterday evening deputies conducted a traffic stop of Green’s vehicle in the 1200 block of Gardere. Deputies observed a black BB handgun on the floorboard of the vehicle. The gun closely resembled the gun used in the armed robberies of the Cracker Barrel recently and the defendant resembled the man on the surveillance video. Green was cited for several traffic violations and released.
Detectives contacted Green at his residence today. After advising him of his rights Green confessed to committing both robberies at the Burbank Cracker Barrel on October 16 and November 17. He also confessed to two additional robberies of convenience stores being investigated by BRPD.
Detectives obtained a search waiver for Green’s home and located several items worn during the robberies. Green was taken into custody and booked on the above listed charges. Green is charged with Aggravated Battery for striking the clerk in the head with the gun during the October 16 armed robbery.
