Traffic stop in Prairieville leads to the arrest of 7 people for drug charges

A traffic stop resulted in the arrest of a woman and her passenger. Then, after a search of her home, five additional people were arrested. All face drug charges and were booked into the parish jail.

On July 15, the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division began an investigation into reports of drug activity. During the investigation, narcotics detectives arrested Crystal Carter, and her passenger Jeffrey Walker on drug charges during a traffic stop in Prairieville.

As a result of the traffic stop Narcotics detectives executed a search warrant at Crystal Carter’s residence located on Hwy 929 in Prairieville. During the search, narcotics detectives located and arrested five additional people that were in Carters home. The five were arrested for possessing heroin, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.

Crystal Carter, 31, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, three counts possession of schedule II CDS, and two counts possession of a legend drug.

Jeffrey Walker, 32, of Geismar, was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of schedule II CDS, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a legend drug.

Jennifer Odom, 29, of Prairieville, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of heroin, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Caleb Wheat, 27, of St. Amant, was arrested and charged with possession of schedule II CDS, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of heroin.

Morgan Patterson, 21, of Prairieville, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of heroin, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Joanna Wascom, 28, of Gonzales, was arrested and charged with possession of schedule II CDS, possession of schedule I CDS, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Kyle Fletcher, 30, of 12282 Calcote Road, Gonzales, was arrested and charged with possession of schedule I CDS, possession of schedule II CDS, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

All subjects have been booked into the Ascension Parish Jail awaiting bond as of July 18.
