Three men are being sought after police said they kidnapped, robbed and sexually assaulted a woman multiple times on Monday night in the Garden District.

The incident began about 6:45 p.m. in the 1200 block of Eighth Street, according to a news release from the New Orleans Police Department.

Police said the 30-year-old woman was getting out of her car when she was approached by two men. One them was armed with a gun.

The men forced the woman into vehicle that was waiting nearby and driven by a third man.

After the abduction, police said the men then robbed and raped the woman as they drove around the neighborhood.

The men eventually drove the woman back to 1200 block of Eighth Street, where they took her car keys and stole her 1999 silver four-door Honda Accord with Louisiana license plate OUZ831.

Police said the men drove off with both cars and forced the woman out of the car at Chestnut and Eighth Streets.

The only description given by the NOPD was that the culprits were African-American men in their early to late 20s. Police said the victim wasn’t immediately able to describe the suspect’s car.

The woman was treated and released from the hospital for bruises, scratches and abrasions.
