Three arrests have been made in Eunice following an investigation of a crack cocaine “stash house”.

The Eunice Police Department Narcotics Division received information about narcotics sales from an apartment on Fuselier Street; the informant also said the apartment was being used as a "stash house" to hide large quantities of illegal narcotics for drug dealers.

Officers went to the apartment and made contact with Angelina Thomas, who rents the apartment to Joshua Dupre. She gave police permission to search the apartment.

Officers went in the bedroom and located a purple Crown Royal sack hidden in the bedroom, just as the informant stated. The sack contained five “cookies” of crack cocaine with a total weight of 76.5 grams (over $7000 street value).

While searching the apartment, a relative arrived and forced her way inside. Naomi Dupre was then placed under arrest for resisting an officer. Both Angelina Thomas and Joshua Dupre were placed under arrest on drug charges.

A formal application order was issued on Joshua Dupre and Angelina Thomas. Bond was set at $1000 on Naomi Dupre and she bonded out shortly afterwards.

Joshua Dupre, 31, and Angelina Thomas, 39,were charged with Possession of over 28 grams but less than 200 grams of Crack Cocaine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Violation of the Uniform CDS Law ( Drug Free Zone) and Illegal use of CDS in the Presence of Persons Under 17 years of age.

Naomi Dupre, 23, was charged with Resisting an Officer.

Joseph Dupre has been arrested ten times before. His prior arrests include the following charges:

Possession of Marijuana
Theft by Shoplifting
No Driver’s License
Possession with Intent to Distribute Crack Cocaine
Resisting an Officer by Flight
Aggravated Battery
Simple Assault
Possession of Schedule 2 CDS

Illegal Carrying of Weapons
Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
Illegal Possession of Stolen Firearms

Also, Joshua Dupre was out on bond for an arrest on April 10 of this year. He was one of two Eunice city workers arrested for illegal drug sales while on the clock using city vehicles.
