Detectives with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Investigations arrested three suspects were who are believed to be involved in a home invasion that occurred on the 400 Block of James Street in New Iberia.

The suspects forced the 84-year-old victim to the floor and began to ransack the residence as they searched for items to steal.

Two of the suspects armed themselves with shotguns that belonged to the victim while they were searching the residence.

During the incident, the victim’s son arrived at the house without knowing what was taking place.

Two of the suspects were caught after a brief foot pursuit. The third suspect was captured later and brought to the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office Patrol Center for questioning.

Detectives arrested the two male juveniles, ages 15 and 16 who were then charged with aggravated burglary, home invasion, flight from an officer and simple battery.

The third suspect, Devone Jeanlewis, 17, was later located and arrested. He was also charged with aggravated burglary, home invasion, flight from and officer and simple battery.
