Three arrested after officials see drug deal in action

ASCENSION PARISH, LA — Three Ascension Parish residents are behind bars tonigth after detectives saw them engaging in a drug transaction.
On May 8, Sheriff’s Office Narcotics detectives observed a vehicle driven by Michael Farr, 49, stopped in the middle of the roadway on Sammy Street making what appeared to be a drug transaction.
Detectives stopped the vehicle and found Farr to be in possession of several Hydrocodone pills. Gaylyn Cashio, 43 and Melody Chategnier, 38 were passengers in the vehicle.
Narcotics detectives found Cashio in possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia. Cashio also had active warrants for entering or remaining after being forbidden and trespassing. Melody Chategnier had a fugitive warrant from the Louisiana State Police for D.W.I., Reckless operation, and Hit and Run.
Farr, of St. Amant, was charged with Possession of Schedule II CDS (hydrocodone).
Cashio, of St. Amant, was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Entry of Remaining After Forbidden, Contempt of Court, and Possession of Schedule II CDS (crack cocaine).
Chategnier, of Gonzales, was charged with Fugitive from Louisiana State Police.
All three are currently incarcerated at the Ascension Parish Jail.
