Third suspect arrested in connection to double homicide in Thibodaux

THIBODAUX, LA (NBC33) — UPDATE : A third arrest has been made in connection to the double homicide that happened in the 100 Block of Iris Street this past September 25.
Lynes Jones, 21, was arrested for Accessory After the Fact to Second Degree Murder. Police located and arrested Lynes Jones in the 200 Block of Sanders Street on Monday, October 28.
He is being held at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center on a $100,000 bond.
ORIGINAL: A second suspect has been arrested in connection to a double homicide.
The Thibodaux Police Department arrested Brian Jones, 18, and charged him with two counts of Principal to Second-Degree Murder. He is locked up in the Lafourche Parish Prison on a bond of $1 million.
The shooting took place on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at roughly 10:00 p.m. The victims were Tre Scott, 19, and Jordy Williams, 26, both of Thibodaux.That night, police arrested Alfred Starks, 19, after he was identified as the gunman.
“Police learned that the two deceased were meeting Alfred Starks and Brian Jones to sell them illegal narcotics,” David Melancon, Thibodaux Police Department, said. “We recovered marijuana at the scene.”
Starks is facing additional charges for an incident that happened the night prior to the homicides. He’s accused of firing a gun multiple times at a victim who was located near the intersection of St. Charles and East 12th Street.
Starks is also being held at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center. His bond was set at $5.1 million.
