Thief takes 7 ton AC unit from Sumner High School in Kentwood; suspect wanted

Deputies are searching for the person(s) responsible for stealing an air conditioner from a high school in Kentwood.

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that the theft occurred sometime within the past week at Sumner High School. They say the 7 ½ ton AC unit and its copper piping is valued at roughly $7,500.

Officials say detectives are currently reviewing surveillance video in an attempt to locate a suspect. However, they have no images to release at this time.
