On Saturday, May 26, officers responded to the 400 block of North 2nd Street in reference to a residential burglary in progress.

A neighbor heard a loud noise so she stepped outside to see what was going on. At that time she observed an unknown suspect climbing over a fence with a flat screen TV. The witness then yelled "What are you doing?"

The suspect then dropped the TV set and ran after the witness. The witness then ran inside, locked her door and called 911 as the suspect was at her door trying to enter. While she was on the phone with 911 the suspect left through the back alley then towards St Anthony's Church. Officers were unable to locate the suspect but identification was done during the investigation.

On Sunday, May 27, the suspect, identified as Joshua Tyler, 21, was seen walking on Hwy 13 South near Maple Avenue with a 13 year old juvenile. The suspect was then taken into custody and transported to Eunice PD for booking.

He was booked on charges of simple burglary, trespassing, possession of drug paraphernalia, and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
