Thibodaux police recover stolen firearm, illegal narcotics

Thibodaux police arrested Jasmine Antoine, 24, of Houma for nine different charges.

According to a police report, officers saw a vehicle parked in a fire zone on Cardinal Drive around 11:45 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8.

When police went to speak with the suspect, later identified as Antoine, he stood next to his car. The officers could smell burnt marijuana.

During a search of Antoine’s vehicle, investigators found a gun that had been stolen from Terrebonne Parish. Police then placed Jasmine Antoine under arrest.

Antoine’s charges include: Possession of Codeine, Possession of Marijuana, Violation of Drug Free Zone, Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Violation of Firearm Free Zone, Illegal Carrying of a Firearm in the Presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Illegal Carrying of a Firearm, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

He was released from the Lafourche Parish Detention Center on a $106,000 bond.
