Teens booked with arson in fatal house fire

OPELOUSAS, La (NBC33) - December 26, 2010 - Three teenagers were charged with aggravated arson and second-degree murder in connection with a Wednesday night fire that killed 55-year-old Johnny Little.
Opelousas police said two 14-year-olds and one 16-year-old, allegedly were shooting fireworks in the area, which appear to have started the fire.
Police say they had searched the neighborhood and talked to neighbors to learn the teens were shooting fireworks nearby.
Police also say Little was alone in his house when the fire started, and that he tried to get out but was unsuccessful. Shooting fireworks within the city limits of Opelousas is illegal.
The teens are being held in the St. Martin Parish Juvenile Detention Center,and they will be tried in juvenile court.
