SULPHUR, LA — On March 27 at approximately 3:00 p.m., a Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputy noticed a suspicious car occupied by three men, later identified as Harold W. Sarver, III, 17, a 14 year old boy and 15 year old boy, while patrolling the area of Park Road and Shellie Lane in Moss Bluff. When the deputy turned his car around to investigate, they had abandoned the car and were walking down the road.
After running the license plate of the car through NCIC, the deputy discovered the car had been reported stolen from a Sulphur car dealership the prior day. The deputy arrested Sarver and the 2 juveniles, and they were transported to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office for further questioning.
Further investigation by detectives with the CPSO Vehicle Crimes Unit revealed the 14 year old juvenile stole the car keys from the Sulphur car dealership on March 24. The next day the juvenile returned to the dealership, entered the car and drove off.
The 14 year old boy was charged with theft of a vehicle. The 15 year old juvenile and Sarver were charged with accessory after the fact for the stolen vehicle. Sarver was booked into Calcasieu Correctional Center and released on a $3,000 bond set by Judge Wilford Carter. The juveniles were booked into the Juvenile Detention Center.
The stolen car has been recovered and returned to the car dealership.
This 14 year old juvenile is the same boy CPSO previously arrested on March 15 and charged with stealing three rental cars from a local rental car business at the airport.
