The boy behind the "It's Murder Season" shooting has been convicted.

The 13 year old was found guilty of Attempted Murder.

We're told the boy shouted that phrase back in Feb at a gas station on Silverleaf Avenue before opening fire on a man.

The teen was angry because he was denied a lighter.

He is still behind bars - no word on when he'll be sentenced.

BATON ROUGE, La (NBC33) – A juvenile has been arrested for opening fire on a man at a gas station on Sunday, Feb. 20.

East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office says the young man was standing outside the Texaco gas station on the corner of Silverleaf and Greenwell Street. The youth asked a man walking into the store for a lighter. When the man replied, “no,” the juvenile pulled a revolver out and began shooting at the victim and said, “It’s murder season.”

The juvenile was arrested and booked into the Juvenile Detention Center.
