Teen arrested for drive-by shooting of family home

NAPOLEONVILLE, LA — A 16 year old was arrested in Assumption Parish for allegedly taking part in a drive-by shooting in Napoleonville. Officials are still seeking the person who was driving the stolen vehicle that was used to commit the crime.
On June 27, 2012, the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office received a complaint in reference to a drive-by shooting which had taken place on Hwy 400 just south of Napoleonville. At the time of the shooting there were two adults and five children inside of the home. No one was injured as a result of the shooting.
The caller attempted to pursue the suspects until deputies arrived in the area. Shortly thereafter, the vehicle was found abandoned in the Village of Napoleonville.
The vehicle was impounded to be processed for evidence. This vehicle was later reported stolen from an elderly male.
The complainant was able to give a very good description of the suspects. Along with the description and evidence located at the scene, detectives were able to arrest a 16 year old juvenile on Wednesday, July and charge him with Assault by Drive-by Shooting. He is currently being held at the St. James youth center.
Detectives are still working on a positive identification of the driver of the vehicle and this case remains under investigation.
