Tangipahoa Sheriff's Office focuses on sex offenders, leads to arrests

TANGIPAHOA PARISH, LA — Three men have been arrested after violating sex offender compliance laws in Tangipahoa Parish.
Joseph Verneuil, 65, Lionall Bryant, 49, and Richard Jones, 46, haev all been arrested for being in violation of Louisiana's sex offender compliance laws.
Tangipahoa Sheriff Daniel Edwards stated, "Convicted sex offenders are required to perform registration obligations which include providing accurate personal information to the public. Sex offenders who refuse to comply with these obligations are a threat to public safety and are subject to arrest and prosecution.
He went on to say, "The hard work of the men and women who represent Tangipahoa Parish Sex Offender Task Force insures that Tangipahoa Parish families will continue to have the information about convicted sex offenders that they need to keep safe, and that sex offenders who refuse to comply with the law are brought to justice."
