Tangipahoa Parish, La (NBC33) — Sheriff Daniel Edwards of Tangipahoa Parish reports that deputies have stopped yet another burglary in progress for the second time this week.
On November 14, 2013, while patrolling on Stafford Rd., Deputy Jimmy Graves observed a suspicious vehicle parked at an apartment. Deputy Graves exited his vehicle and observed that the front door had been kicked in. Graves could hear movement coming from the inside of the apartment.
With assistance from the Tickfaw Police Department, Deputy Graves attempted to make entry into the residence. At that time, the subject exited the residence and immediately surrendered.
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office Burglary Unit responded to the scene and took over the investigation.
The subject was identified as Jamie Wilson, 22, of Hammond, LA. Wilson was charged with burglary of an inhabited dwelling and criminal damage to property. A hold was placed on Jaime Wilson for St. Helena Parish due to three outstanding “failure to appear” warrants for burglary.
Sheriff Edwards would like to thank the public for calling in and reporting suspicious activity. Because of their care and concern, this week alone, the TPSO was able to intercept two burglaries in progress and four suspects are now behind bars.
