Tangipahoa Parish man arrested for attempted murder charges

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office has located Marvin Dokes, 28.

Doakes has been charged with Attempted Second Degree Murder and for being in Possession of a Firearm while in the presence of Alcohol.

Dokes was taken into custody today after an anonymous tip from CrimeStoppers led detectives to a residence in Tickfaw.

Dokes was wanted in conjunction with the shooting of a 46-year-old man at Roy’s Bar in Natalbany on May 11.

Melvin G. Jackson,31, of Ponchatoula is still wanted.

He is considered to be armed and dangerous.
