Swat team called out after man refuses to evacuate after being served eviction notice

NAPOLEONVILLE, LA (NBC33) — The Assumption Parish Swat Team had to be called in this morning after a man refused to vacate his home upon being served an eviction notice.
The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that the incident occurred shortly before 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 16. We’re told that a Constable was accompanying a landlord to serve an eviction notice to Jason M. Oncale, 32, at his home located on Railroad Avenue in Napoleonville.
Reports say that the suspect sprayed a chemical agent on Constable Richard Arcement as well as the landlord. We’re told the suspect then refused to exit the home.
The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Department was called out and a Swat Team was engaged. Oncale surrendered after about an hour and did not resist arrest any further.
Oncale was booked in the Assumption Parish Detention Center and was charged with two counts of Aggravated Battery on a Police Officer, one count of Aggravated Battery and two counts of Resisting an Officer.
Oncale’s bond has not been set at this time.
