UPDATE: 3rd Suspect turns himself in for Geismar Bank robbery
Ascension Parish (NBC33) — UPDATE 2-24-14: Bryan Golden, 30, of Gonzales, turned himself into authorities late Friday evening.
Golden was the last of three suspects wanted for the Red River Bank robbery in Geismar that took place Wednesday, February 19.
Golden was arrested and charged with armed robbery and armed robbery with a firearm. He is currently incarcerated at the Ascension Parish jail.
ORIGINAL 2-21-14: Ascension Parish Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a Gonzales man, Bryan Golden, 30, who is believed to be responsible for the armed robbery of Red River Bank on Wednesday, Feb. 19.
According to police reports, the abandoned suspect vehicle used in the robbery was found on Coco Road, approximately two miles from the scene. The vehicle had been stolen a few days before the robbery.
Tracking dogs followed a trail from the abandoned vehicle, through a wooded area, and to a parallel road, River Oaks. Further investigation revealed that accomplices picked up the suspect on River Oaks Road to help him escape.
The two men who allegedly helped Golden escape have been arrested in connection with the robbery.
Cedric Emerson, 31, of Geismar, was arrested Thursday, Feb. 20, and charged with resisting an officer, armed robbery, and armed robbery with a firearm. He was also booked on outstanding bench warrants.
Travis West, 32, of Geismar, was arrested Thursday, Feb. 20, and charged with accessory after the fact for armed robbery.
Both men are in the Ascension Parish Jail, awaiting bond.
Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 cash reward and Red River Bank is offering a $2,500 reward.
