EBRSO Deupties are investigating shootout in the 4600 Block of YA Tittle Road, just off Bob Pettit in the Tigerland area of Baton Rouge.

An EBR EMS spokesman tells NBC33 News, EBR Sheriff's Deputies were attempting to serve a narcotics warrant. When they approached the home, we're told the 24-year-old Lionel Gilmore began shooting at them.

EBRSO says, an undercover agent bought heroin from Gilmore earlier in the day. Then, Deputies were going to serve Gilmore with a warrant for his arrest. Deputies say, Gilmore shot at them, and they returned fire, striking Gilmore in the head. Gilmore is in the hospital. The EBR Sheriff's Deputies are OK.

When he's released from the hospital, Gilmore will face multiple drug charges and three attempted murder of police officer charges.
