New Orleans (NBC33) — The New Orleans Police and the U.S. Marshal apprehended the Bourbon Street shooting suspect, 20-year-old Trung T. Le (also known as “Joe”), in Mississippi on Friday afternoon.
Le, a resident of Belle Chasse, LA, is a suspect in the shooting that killed Brittany Thomas and injured nine others on Sunday, June 29, 2014 in the 700 block of Bourbon Street.
Detectives think at least two suspects fired shots and that Le fired the first shot.
“Our Eighth District and Homicide Detectives have worked around the clock since this shooting incident took place, and I am confident we will bring all of the perpetrators in this case to justice,” said NOPD Superintendent Ronal Serpas.
“I am thankful to local, state and regional law enforcement agencies that have assisted the NOPD and to the community for the numerous Crimestoppers tips we have received.”
Detectives are still asking for the public’s help in obtaining any photos or videos from of the French Quarter on the night of the incident. You may send those to: NOPDTIPS@nola.gov.
