A young girl on a school bus was treated for minor injuries after she was hurt by shattered glass. The glass broke due to a stray bullet from a drive-by shooting.

The incident happened in New Orleans at around 4:30 p.m. near the intersection of Iberville Street and Claiborne Ave. The brother of the shooting victim told WDSU that his brother was shot as he was walking home from work. He said the suspects drove up in a vehicle and shot his brother in the leg, hip and foot, then drove off.

Officials say one of those bullets made its way to a passing school bus. The shattered glass hit a student, causing her injury. She was treated at the scene by EMS and released.

The shooting victim was taken to a local hospital where he is expected to survive.

No other additional information regarding the suspects could be provided at this time.
