Store employee uses stolen cash for marijuana distribution operation

LAFAYETTE, LA (NBC33) — A store employee allegedly robbed his business for nearly $2,000 and then used the money to buy illegal drugs.
On Friday, March 16, officers with the Scott Police Department were called to investigate the robbery of a local business. They were lead to believe the suspect was an employee.
Investigators were lead to the home of Lamar Stiner, 33, of Lafayette. After conducting a search of the home they found $350 in cash, 145 grams of marijuana, which was separated into 20 plastic bags.
Stiner was renting a vehicle which investigators believe was to be used to distribute the marijuana.
The total street value of the marijuana recovered is $1,300.
Stiner was arrested and charged with Possession with intent to Distribute Marijuana
Officers are still attempting to recover some of the stolen cash and additional charges are possible concerning the actual theft.
