St. John Parish wanted for murder turns himself in to authorities

Laplace, la — UPDATE: Officials say Demond Baker, 33, turned himself in to authorities. He was booked with Second-Degree Murder, and two additional counts of Contempt of Court. His bond was set at $250,000.
ORIGINAL: St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office Detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for Demond Baker, 33, in connection with a homicide that occurred in the early morning hours of April 7.
The murder, which claimed the life of Ralph Thomas, 23, took place in Edgard, a small town near Laplace.
Baker is wanted for Second-Degree Murder.
Baker's last known address is on Quarter Road in Edgard. He is considered armed and dangerous, and should not be approached.
