ORIGINAL STORY: A St. Gabriel, LA, man was found shot to death in his St. Gabriel home Wednesday afternoon. The Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office says another man was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, apparently the victim of a self-inflicted gunshot.

Iberville Parish Sheriff Brett Stassi says his Deputies were called out Wednesday afternoon to Daisy Avenue in St. Gabriel to see what was going on.

At this point, it's unclear what the relationship was between the two men. The Sheriff's Office says it's continuing its investigation at this point, and it's working to notify family members of the deceased man.

*editors note: NBC33's news team has obtained the name of the deceased victim in this investigation, but we are choosing not to release his name at this time because his family has not been notified by investigators.

Seems like a background check could have kept this from happening, and not gotten egg on the faces of the ones who put him in the position on a major network with a shaded past, you go an apply for a medial job and they do a background check why not a major CBS carrier, seems like someone dropped the ball on this one, and its time to try and cover their tracks. Poor human resources in the dept. that overlooks apps.
