Son arrested for DWI in crash where his father died

LIVINGSTON PARISH SHERIFF'S OFFICE — Livingston Parish Sheriff's Deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash on Henry White Road in Albany just before 2:00 a.m. on August 5, 2012.
Ryan Chaisson, 21, was driving eastbound on Henry White Road when he left the road way, hit a ditch and eventually a tree. The car Ryan Chaisson was traveling in rolled, ejecting his unrestrained passenger. Ryan Chaisson's father Chad Chaisson, 41, of Albany was pronounced dead on scene.
Ryan Chaisson was transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment of minor injuries. He was later released from that medical facility. Ryan Chaisson was then booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center.
Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in this crash.
Ryan Chaisson, was charged with DWI, reckless operation, and vehicular Homicide. Bond has been set at $101,378.00.
